Lorraine Bowers

Lorraine Bowers has over 14 years of special education experience in public schools. She earned a  bachelor's degree in Political Science from Savannah State University. Mrs. Bowers has obtained both a Master's degree in Public Administration as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching in the specialty of Special Education. With a leadership certificate from Valodas State University Mrs. Bowers has worked 3 years in administration as an assistant principal. As an Assistant Professor at Savannah State University, she teaches future educators about the art of special education. Collaborating and partnering with many stakeholders can sometimes be an intricate balancing act that requires a certain skill set. Ms. Bowers is a trained and registered mediator who volunteers with the Mediation Center of Savannah Georgia.

Mrs. Bowers brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every encounter that she experiences. She is compassionate and focused on helping all students and parents in helping them understand the IEP process.  Offering resources that help promote and foster a more cohesive education and family unit is essential in building and maintaining strong bonds. Mrs. Bowers is a proud educator, mother, and wife. She stands for all people. She is honored to serve and represent you.

IEP Advocacy Services

Foster collaboration, trust, and shared responsibility between parents and educators. By valuing the input and perspectives of parents, the consultations contribute to the development of meaningful, individualized educational plans that support the child's growth, success, and well-being.

Understanding and Maximizing the IEP Journey" workshop is designed to equip both children and parents with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to actively participate in the IEP process. This interactive workshop aims to foster collaboration, enhance understanding, and promote positive outcomes for children receiving special education services.

Communication Workshops

Words Do Not have to get lost in translation.

The communication workshops are geared to help all find their voice. Break down the wall of fear and tap into an honest, bold, authentic way of voicing one's truth. These workshops are specifically designed to help individuals or groups resolve conflict, grow in self esteem and self awareness. There are a series of activities that allow you to become a better YOU. Don't be afraid to step into a new world as you choose to grow and expand your reality. Mindful Deliberate Articulaction will help you through the journey of knowing howing to foster better communication skills.

IEP Team

An Individual Education Program, often referred to as an IEP, is a specially-designed learning plan for a child with a disability or special needs to help them achieve their academic goals. It's a program that is tailored to meet your child's unique needs, as identified by a team of professionals and you, as the parent.
